My blogging regarding fires.

I have now come to the end of what I consider to be a vitally important, possible life-saving part of this blog. I believe I have covered everything that I can.

If you think I have omitted something, please drop me a note. I would be only too happy to cover further information or details as requested.

Some people who have read this blog are aware that I was involved in the fires. To what extent I am hesitant to reveal as I am not a hero. I did what had to be done.

The heroes in the events of “Black Saturday” are those men and women who turned out on the day as both paid and unpaid volunteers and assisted those in need and fought the fires and saved the lives of many people.

This is my way of saying thank-you.

I am sorry that the Royal Commission seems to portray you, the people at the front of the firing line as people who did not know what you were doing. I don’t believe this to be the case. You did what you were ordered to do and had to do to save lives and property.

I have heard first-hand many stories of self-less acts of bravery, which saved the lives of many men, women and children.

If you are a reader of this blog, please leave a note of thanks to the boys and girls in the emergency services, who may have saved a friend, a family member or even your dog. Be it now, or in the future.

Thank-you

And please stay tuned for more posts tomorrow, the day after and the day after that!

I want one person to have the balls to stand up in that commission and make note of the many lives that WERE saved as a result of the millions of 'man hours' expended by firefighters paid and volunteer and say bloody well done all of you!! Just one...please.

I so wish I could. Everyone seems to think that volunteers, just don't count and......... that makes me so ANGRY - you can't imagine.

In the beginning whenthe commission was being set up and many people applied to be heard, so many applications were rejected to be heard at the hearing.

Authorities refused to acknowledge communications. It is butt covering and it makes me so sick.

Please accept my thanks, for everything you did - you could only work within the limits you are instructed to, both then and now.

I don't expect you to break any laws, regulations or similiar in doing your job, and if people say you are ONLY a volunteer, well - that is BS - you volunteer because YOU care, you volunteer because YOU believe in what you are doing.

And trust me I beleive in what you are doing. None of you can be everywhere, protecting everyone, there is a degree of personal responsibility that EVERYONE must adopt or perish.

Thank-you for you comment and everything you have done, may do and can do.

From someone that was there as a volunteer on Black Saturday.....and still has the bad dreams to remind him.....I have to say of the other volunteers and staff. Bravery is someone that went out on the trucks that day and done what was required to do on working in hell and thankfully returning.......COURAGE are those that having done it before are STILL willing to get on the trucks and do it again now knowing what is awaiting with the heat from hell.
This is my thought.

S - You have just bought tears to my eyes - you are so right.

The nightmares will not stop - only diminish - I can't say anything else. I have those nightmares too :(

Everyone who rode those trucks that day, are my heroes, those that got back on those after the fact are the most giving and wonderful people on this earth, not only heroes, but people that should be named in the tomes of history as warriors for man.

Thank-you for taking the time to comment, it means so much more to me than words, and I am sure others that are reading agree with me.
